BC WINERIES TOUR IN OSOYOOS
Join us for the video of our mini winery tour of Osoyoos and Oliver! Jill and I were lucky enough to spend the October 2020 Canadian Thanksgiving holiday weekend enjoying British Columbia’s Okanagan wine region. The weather was absolutely perfect for taking in the gorgeous scenery of the region, and enjoying many a glass of fantastic local vintages outside in the winery grounds.
We visited Burrowing Owl winery, where the views are stunning (and so is the wine), Platinum Bench (which has wonderful red wines), and Rust Wine Co. All are located on the ‘Golden Mile’ of wineries between Osoyoos and SouthWest of Oliver. Over 60% of all Okanagan grapes were once grown along the Golden Mile Bench, which is actually 13 miles long (21 Km). The Golden Mile Bench is completely frost-free year-round, which makes it absolutely perfect for growing vines and producing amazing wines.
We had several amazing days that made for a wonderful mini-vacation over the holiday weekend. Even our hotel was fantastic, with a pool, wonderful restaurant, spa, and gorgeous view overlooking Lake Osoyoos, one of the warmest lakes in Canada.
Watch the video for more details on our favourite wineries, and for some of the breathtaking scenery in the Osoyoos region!
